PRINCE Charming and a host of other fantastical characters descended on Lawford primary school before half term for a fairy tale themed dress up day.

For the occasion the year one pupils spent a week building their own castle before spending a day dressed up as their favourite characters.

Lorna Mahoney, year one teacher at the school said it was a great way to end half term.

“The children thought it was fantastic and all had a great time.”

She explained: “Each term we choose a theme and then we try our best to incorporate all of the subjects into that theme. If we can include literature, science and mathematics into the theme then it helps to make learning more enjoyable.”

She added: “This term’s theme of fairy tales appears to have gone down very well with the children and I’d like to add that their work over the past few weeks has been fantastic.”
