The date for the next food and farmers market is to move forward by a week so that customers can buy seasonal produce in time for the Christmas festivities.
The popular market, organised by Rugby First, will take place on Thursday December 19 in Market Place from 9am to 2pm and will feature over 15 stalls.
The market, normally held the last Thursday of the month, promises to serve up a delicious array of locally produced, sourced or reared goods that includes fresh fish, seasonal and speciality pies, a variety of cakes including gluten free, honey & beeswax products, a wide range of eggs, poultry, some game, vegetarian and vegan foods, party nibbles, cheeses, fruit juices, wines and fruit, pickles and jams, fresh lamb, organic vegetables, pork and beef and speciality products, home baked artisan bread and cakes.
Harkers Fudge will not be able to attend due to illness but hopefully will be back in April.
William Rouse market manager said: “The farmers market offers customers good quality, locally sourced products which are environmentally friendly having travelled only a few miles to market. All products are clearly labelled, fresh, competitively priced and people buy in the knowledge that they are supporting local producers.
“If you have not visited the market before why not give it a try – we think you will enjoy the experience and be surprised at the variety and quality of food and drink that is on offer. Many of the items will not be found in your mainstream stores so a great opportunity to pick up something different this Christmas. If you are interested in trading at the farmers market we would like to hear from you.”
