The leaky roof in Rugby’s Clock Towers Shopping Centre is to be tackled as part of some major refurbishments in the coming months.

New owners CT Properties has announced that a number of improvements will be made to the building - including repairs to the notorious roof.

The Clock Towers’ roof along Manning Walk is currently being refurbished to ensure it is completely waterproof.

And over the summer and autumn months, new, fully glazed roofs will be installed in North Way and Market Mall.

From June onwards, work will also start to update and replace all the lifts throughout the shopping centre.

In order to keep disruption to a minimum, the replacement works will be staggered to ensure there is always an operational lift between the car park and the centre.

There will also be an increase in the security provision at the centre with all new CCTV cameras and upgrades to the lighting in the multi-
storey car park, as well as the introduction of a wi-fi network for customers.

The developments are set to continue into 2017, with a revamp of both Market Place and North Street entrances and new granite flooring throughout.

New street furniture will also be provided and large multi-media digital screens installed.

The shops will remain open throughout the improvement works.

Robin Swift, centre manager at Clock Towers, said: “This is an exciting time for the Clock Towers Shopping Centre and a great opportunity for the town and community of Rugby.

“The centre has been in need of a little TLC for some time now and we’re so pleased to see that the new owners are not only doing those necessary fixes but want to go above and beyond to give the entire centre a completely new, modernised look and feel.

“I genuinely believe this will have a great impact on the centre of Rugby as a shopping destination and can’t wait to see the end result.”
