Aphrodite Beauty and Spa is giving Rugby women the chance to get rid of unwanted hair using state-of-the art technology.
And the Advertiser has teamed up with the salon to offer £250 off a single treatment or a course of treatment to the winner of this week’s competition.
The team at Aphrodite use a technology called IPL(Intense Pulsed Light). It involves an applicator being pressed into the skin, with light energy being absorbed into the unwanted hair, causing a heat reaction and destroying the follicle.
The treatment is only successful in the ‘anagen’ stage (growing stage) of hair growth, meaning that clients need to come in for six treatments at 4-8 week intervals to ensure all hair follicles are treated successfully in the anagen stage. Clients should avoid tanning one month before and during the entire treatment to avoid increased pain or burns from excessive light absorption in the epidermis. Immediately after the treatment the skin is particularly sensitive to UV light. A sunscreen factor of at least 30+ must be used for 30 days after the treatment.
The equipment has pre-programmed treatment suggestions for different skin and hair types, thus allowing the energy levels to be adjusted for the client’s individual needs.
Aprhrodite offers a range of hair-removal treatments at prices, ranging from a £25 single treatment on the upper lip to a full course of treatment on the legs from £1,375.
A consultation and patch test (£10) is essential before carrying out any IPL treatment. Aphrodite’s therapists will discuss medical history and assess the area to be treated, to ensure that safe and effective treatment is carried out. The £250 voucher is valid for six months after the initial patch test.
Aphrodite is also offering 50 per cent off any single IPL treatment and 20 per cent off courses throughout February.
The salon is at 14 and 17 Main Street, Newbold. Call (01788) 575750 or visit www.aphroditebeautyandspa.com
