A Conservative councillor has taken up a new role as Armed Service Covenant for Rugby.

Cllr David Ellis will offer assistance to past and present members of the Armed Forces.

Cllr Ellis said: “Essentially, it’s about making sure any serving member or past member of our most splendid HM Armed Services is treated fairly and with due regard as they have given and sacrificed.

“We are also here to help to support changes in the services in the region, getting information out to the community and looking at any projects that meet the objectives of the covenant.”
