Since Cats first opened on the West End stage in 1981, it has become one of the world’s best known and best loved musicals.

Featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the musical is based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Elliot, telling the story of an annual gathering of cats.

Lecturer Ruth Ditch said: “The performing arts students have been rehearsing since September and we’ve also been supported by our hair and beauty and theatrical make-up students for the costumes and make-up.

“It’s a wonderful musical full of amazing songs such as ‘Memory’, so we hope local people will take the opportunity to come and support the stars of the future. It’s going to be a night of fantastic entertainment - a highlight of the festive period!
