BREAKING NEWS: 11 further arrests in drugs raids in Rugby as part of Operation Laser

POLICE have this morning (Thursday) made 11 further arrests in Rugby as part of the biggest ever drugs operation in town.

Officers carried out simultaneous raids at 11 addresses in Rugby at 6.30am today in a continuation of Operation Laser.

This morning’s arrests, three females and eight males, whose ages range from early 20s to late 40s, are all on suspicion of the supply of Class A drugs. They have all been taken to Leamington Police Station for questioning.

On Tuesday Warwickshire Police, assisted by officers from West Mercia Police, arrested 20 people in Rugby, West Midlands area and London during another series of dawn raids. A 23-year old male was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Eighteen people, aged between 25-years and 47-years, were charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs and were remanded overnight and appeared before magistrates in Nuneaton yesterday (Wednesday).

Following their court appearance the following people (arrested during Tuesday’s raids) have been remanded in custody:

Lee Burn from Eskdale, Rugby - Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Tafara Creary from James Galloway Close, Coventry - Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Claire Ellis from Worcester St, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Terry Foster from Howkins Road, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin and criminal damage

Craig McGregor from Ashwood Court, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Scott McGregor from Herdwick Court, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply heroin

Ian Murray from Pennington Street, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply heroin

Levi Ruddock from Fornside, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Dave Sewell from Keswick Gardens. Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Christine Tune from Biart Place, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Christopher White from Worcester Street, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Malcolm Window from Murray Road, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply heroin

The following people were released on conditional bail:

Nigel Powell from Manor Road, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Kavin Atkinson from Dunkirk Place, Coventry Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Anthony Atkinson from Copeland, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine

Cleon Craig from Lea Crescent, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

Royis Samuels from Millbeck, Rugby Charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin

In addition Craig Smith from Belham Walk, London, who was arrested on Tuesday in London as part of Operation Laser, has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and is due to appear before magistrates in Nuneaton today (Thursday).

OPERATION LASER IN SUMMARY

*The total number of arrests made as part of Operation Laser in Rugby, the West Midlands and London this week is 31 people.

*Eighteen people appeared in court yesterday (Wednesday), of which 13 have been remanded in custody by the court and five were released on bail.

*Another male will appear before Nuneaton magistrates today (Thursday).

*One of those arrested on Tuesday was been released on police bail.

*Eleven are currently being questioned by police following arrests this morning (Thursday).
