Police officers found several cannabis plants at a Leamington property after attending a fire call out.

A Tweet was shared by the Policing South Warwickshire page at around 5.17am on Saturday morning.

It said that officers had attended a property in Leamington along with the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The tweet said:" Patrol Officers have attended reports of a fire along with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service at an address in Leamington.

"Upon forcing entry evidence of cannabis cultivation has been found.

"Plants seized, equipment destroyed and suspect identified. A court appearance will surely follow."

Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service have both been contacted for more information.
