JEWELLERY found in a village near Rugby could have been stolen during a recent burglary in the area.

Police are now looking for the owner of the unusual item of jewellery which was found along with other items at the side of Lutterworth Road in Pailton.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “The item is believed to be a lion’s claw set in gold. These pieces became illegal in the 1970s so it could now be someone’s treasured possession.”

If you can help officers reunite it with its owner, please contact DC Gary Hammond in the Local Investigation Team on (01926) 415000 ext 3849.
