Police dog Bliss was out in Rugby town centre yesterday, Thursday, as part of a drugs operation.

Bliss walked through Technology Drive and Murray Road with a team of officers, on the lookout for people carrying drugs.

One person was searched but no drugs were found as part of the operation. A man was also issued with a public space protection order fine of £100 for refusing to hand over an alcoholic drink to officers.

PC Andy Crouch said: “We didn’t catch anyone with drugs today in Rugby but it has sent out a strong message to anyone that if you are carrying drugs we are on the lookout for you and being proactive in tackling the use of drugs in the town.”
