A woman has been charged with drink-driving following an accident where a car ended up upside down on top of two parked vehicles.

Northamptonshire Police have confirmed that a 44-year-old woman, who is from Rugby, will appear in Northampton Magistrates’ Court next month following last night’s crash in Braunston.

Witnesses reported seeing the car go down two grass banks before flipping onto its roof on top of two other cars in The Boat House car park.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “We were called to The Boathouse Pub in Braunston at 8.45pm on Wednesday after a car came off the road and landed on top of two other cars in the car park.

“Nobody was trapped when officers arrived.

“We were called by people at the pub. A 44-year-old woman was taken to Northampton General Hospital for treatment for a head injury but these are not believed to be serious.

“She was later arrested and charged with drink-driving.”
