Woman robbed of purse in Dunchurch

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred as a woman was walking home from the BP Service Station in Dunchurch on Saturday.

The woman, who was carrying a blue shopping bag containing food and a purse, had just walked over the Coventry Road junction with Adkinson Avenue towards the centre of Dunchurch, when two men walking in the opposite direction barged into her and stole her purse before running off.

The purse contained cash, a drivers license, bank cards and family momentos.

The robbers are described as medium build, in their late teens or early 20’s, between 5’8” and 5’10” tall and both wearing dark coloured jackets with hoods or hats.

Officers are checking CCTV footage and carrying out house to house enquiries in their search for witnesses.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who has found a purse or other items discarded in the area since Saturday night.

The robbery happened at around 9.50pm.
