A DIAMOND group of cheerleaders came out on top after a competition ranked them the best in the county.
The group of 13 pupils from Dunchurch Boughton Junior School - called the Dunchurch Diamonds - were placed first in the eastern area in the Warwickshire County Cheerleading Competition recently. They then went on to be crowned County Champions, beating off stiff competition from around 750 pupils. They were marked on a number of areas including their cheer, jump techniques, choreography and overall performance.
The pupils have now been offered the opportunity of performing at the nationals at the end of June.
Coach Jaide Ellery said: “I am extremely proud of them all.”
