It’s long been believed that Coombe Abbey is haunted - and these photos may be enough to convince even the fiercest sceptic that it is.

They were taken by a visitor during a ‘ghost tour’, and appear to show figures hovering around a bed.

In one, a spectral outstretched hand and arm appear to loom out from a shadowy figure. The other seems to show the grimmacing face of a ghoul raising his right hand.

The pictures were sent to the Advertiser by reader Katy Cordani. She said: “I was searching the web about ghost sightings at Coombe Abbey and I found your article from 2011 about a ghostly figure captured in a photo of a hallway.

“I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend in 2009 and we participated in the ghost tour. During the tour my camera mysteriously turned itself off when I tried taking a photo inside the Blue Room and my boyfriend also took the two images below in the room I believe is used as the honeymoon suite.

“My boyfriend used his iPhone to take the images where there are two figures seen clearly in each.”

The grade 1-listed Coombe Abbey was founded as a monastery in the 12th century. It is now a hotel and country park.
