The Indian community completed the annual Sewa event to raise money for a new Breast Cancer Unit for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

This year’s Sewa event was a Walkathon around Draycote Water with participants walking, running or cycling around the reservoir to raise money for charity.

Despite bad weather, 79 people took part and raised more than £800.

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey also took part in the event.

He said: “I found it particularly rewarding to join the local Indian community and take part in the Sewa Walkathon helping to raise money for a new Breast Cancer Unit for UHCW.”

Event organiser Kishor Mistry said the day was a great success.
