WE MAY not have seen any snow in Rugby so far this winter, but there’s been no shortage of the stuff at Lawrence Sheriff School.

Students performed Raymond Briggs’ and Howard Blake’s The Snowman this week in its entirety - complete with full orchestra, narrator and treble soloist.

Sixth-former Josh Newman narrated the tale, with Matthew Carter from Year 7 singing the solo Walking In The Air, as popularised by Aled Jones.

The performance was part of the school’s Christmas Concert, which was held yesterday evening (Wednesday) in the school’s main hall.

It also featured a slideshow of images and animations created by Year 8 student Jayan Joshi.

Lawrence Sheriff will be joining with Dunchurch Junior School next week for ‘A Festival of Christmas Music and Readings’.

It will take place in St Andrew’s church on Thursday December 15 at 6pm. Entry is free.
