Pupils at Boughton Leigh Infant School are living up to their school motto, which includes the words caring and sharing, by filling shoeboxes for needy children.

They are taking part in the Operation Christmas Child appeal and their boxes contain toys, books, toiletries and other items as a surprise for youngsters who will have little Christmas joy in their lives.

This year more boxes than before have been donated by the school.

Teaching assistant Kerry Finch organised the box collection and said: “Our pupils learn about caring for one another and helping those less fortunate than themselves. Supporting Operation Christmas Child is a great way to put these values into action. The boxes may be small but they will bring great joy to underprivileged children.”
