ANOTHER set of excellent A-Level results are being celebrated by students at Lawrence Sheriff School this morning (Thursday).

Results from the 2011 results shown that 72 per cent of entries gained A* to B grades whilst the pass rate was 100 per cent, therefore maintaining last year’s very high standards.

Several students have achieved particularly highly. Michael Hope achieved 5 A* grades and will be going on to Cambridge to study natural sciences. James Morrow achieved 4 A* grades, Nathan Gunter 3 A* and 2 A grades and Ryan Nouch 2 A* and 3 A grades. Andy Atayi and Mitesh Patel both achieved 2 A* and 2 A grades.

The school said it has taken real pleasure in the success of individual students including Jozef Fedor who joined Lawrence Sheriff at the start of the sixth form. Despite the fact that English was not his first language, Jozef went on to achieve an A* in economics, an A in mathematics and a B grade in physics.

Headteacher Dr Peter Kent said: “Grades such as this only come as the result of a lot of hard work from students, teachers and parents. Everyone should be congratulated on another excellent set of results.”
