Emergency services called to help man on a roof in Bilton

Emergency services were called to a road in Bilton after a man fell from a ladder.

Fire crews and The West Midlands Ambulance trust crews were called out this morning to Alwyn Road.

The crews were responding to an incident after a man fell from a ladder.

A spokesperson from The West Midland Ambulance Trust said: “We were called at 11.37am to Alwyn Road and are still there on the scene at the moment.

“We were called to report of a patient on a roof. The patient is a man believed to be in his 50s and is being treated for a rib injury and is going to be taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“Warwickshire fire service were there as well for us we had in attendance one ambulance one paramedic area support officer and the Trust Hazardous Area Response Team known as the HART team.”

A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue said: “There was a record of an incident on Alwyn Road, Bilton. A person was stuck on a first floor roof after falling from a ladder.

“We were alerted 11:41 and two appliances from Rugby were in attendance at 11:48. They had both returned by 13:28.

“The person was left in the care of the ambulance service.”
