Emergency services called to multi-vehicle crash on M6 near Rugby

Up to ten vehicles were involved in a crash on the M6 near Rugby yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

West Midlands Ambulance Service dealt with three motorway incidents within five minutes of each other on Sunday afternoon.

The three incident all took place around 5pm.

M6 Junction 1 southbound, Rugby

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance said: “An ambulance; a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer attended the scene. Initial calls suggested up to ten vehicles were involved. One patient was taken to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for assessment and treatment.”

M6 junction 9 south.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance said: “An ambulance and paramedic officer attended a collision between a car and motorbike. One male motorcyclist was treated at the scene for minor injuries and later released.”

M42 junction 4-5 southbound.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance said: “West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident just before 5pm. 999 calls suggested 4 vehicles were involved. One female patient was assessed on scene and later released. A further female was treated for back pain and was taken by ambulance to Hartlands Hospital. An ambulance; ambulance officer and Basics doctor attended the scene.”
