HUNDREDS of people turned out to see the public exhibition showcasing plans for Elliott’s Field Retail Park.
Around 500 people attended the exhibition, which was held at Rugby Art Gallery, Museum and Library on Friday and at Elliott’s Field on Saturday. Just under 150 people completed feedback forms to share their views about the proposals.
Hammerson, which own the retail park, are planning a multi million revamp of the site which will include a flagship Debenhams store and 15 other units.
Tom Cochrane, Hammerson development manager, said: “We were really pleased to have so many visitors and we were delighted with the level of support we received. Almost everyone who completed a feedback form said they are either very supportive or broadly supportive, with the announcement that Debenhams will be coming to Elliott’s Field proving particularly popular.
“The team will now give the feedback we have received, on a wide range of issues, very careful consideration before we submit a planning application next year. We will continue to work hard to create an outstanding scheme that will benefit the whole of Rugby.”
