The refurbishment of Brownsover’s Hollowell Way park has been boosted by a £50,000 grant from Suez Communities Trust.

The £200,000 refurbishment includes a new skatepark, expanded play area and a new multi-use games area suitable for football, basketball, cricket and other sports.

Work on the revamp has now started, with the new games area – funded by the grant from Suez – and council-funded play area earmarked for completion before Christmas.

New play equipment set to be installed includes a zip wire, climber with monkey bars, roundabout, see-saw, swings and a trampoline.

Work on the council-funded skatepark begins in the new year and looks set to be completed by the spring.
