THE biggest, brightest and loudest music festival Rugby has ever staged takes place in just over a week.

On Saturday August 18 Rugby Music Festival takes place in Caldecott Park, where more than 17 acts will take to the stage. Thanks to new sponsors Vault, Asda, Ravine Music, Rugby Borough Council and Rugby First, the event is set to be even bigger, brighter and louder than last year’s successful debut festival. Acts include White Men Can’t Funk, Liquid Insanity, Interspersed and solo artists including Sophie, Lucy Taylor, and Connor Ball. Organiser David Head said: “We’ve booked the bands, we’ve booked the dancers, we’ve booked the venue and we’ve booked the sunshine. Now all we need is for people come and support us and have a great time.”

Organisers have laid on catering, refreshments, stalls and entertainment including bouncy castles and other attractions for children, and are encouraging families to come along. The event is free of charge but there will be collections for charities.
