Art lovers have the chance to view original artwork from future stars of the art world over the next few weeks in Rugby.
Art students from Rugby College are presenting their “Best of 2014” exhibition from November 18 - 27 at the Floor One Gallery at Rugby Museum and Art Gallery in Little Elborow Street.
This exhibition is a showcase of selected works produced by students who completed their studies at Rugby College, School of Arts, last academic year from the Foundation Studies and Extended Diploma in Art & Design courses.
The exhibition includes a variety of creative work across a range of specialist areas including fine art, illustration, fashion and textile design and three dimensional design.
It is free and is open Tuesday to Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 10am - 4pm.
Also on display at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is “Furoshiki All Wrapped Up” - an exhibition by Rugby College students of artwork inspired by furoshiki - a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth traditionally used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods.
The Art Gallery and Museum and Rugby College have worked in collaboration on this project linked to the current exhibition ‘It’s a Wrap: Japanese furoshiki past and present’.
