Car robbed from man in Wolston

A DRIVER was pulled from his car by two men who then drove off in it leaving him by the roadside.

The frightening incident, which left the driver very shaken, happened at around 5.45pm yesterday (Sunday) near to the Co-op in School Street, Wolston.

The 59 year old driver was forcibly pulled from his Land Rover Discovery estate during the robbery and two men drove off in it towards the A45.

Keys, two passports and a driving licence were also stolen with the vehicle and police are now appealing for any witnesses who saw the robbery to come forward.

DC Neil Morley-Smith from Warwickshire Police said: "The stolen vehicle had a cream coloured office chair in the boot that was clearly visible to anyone driving behind the Land Rover. We are asking for anyone who remembers following a Land Rover with a cream chair in the back, or who sees a cream chair abandoned somewhere, to please call Rugby CID as soon as possible."

The first man is described as white, 6ft 2ins, large build, aged early to mid 20s and wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap.

The second man is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall and of slight build. Police also believe that a dark coloured Ford Escort was involved.

Witnesses or anyone with information can call police on (01926) 415000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
