Fancy 'coffin' up for hearse ride?

IT MAY seem like something from the depths of wacky races - and it has been giving Rugby drivers a severe case of rubber-necking.

In his latest crazy idea, James Freeman has decided to entertain motorists by buying a funeral hearse off the internet auction site Ebay for 400 and decorate it in pink flames.

This follows his previous Vauxhall Cavalier painted as a cow and a furry zebra moped.

"Everyone stops to look at it when I am driving it around Rugby," said the 24-year-old from Clifton Road, Rugby.

"I got it because it is a bit different and I am always looking for something new."

The hearse has travelled to may parts of the midlands and has even been used to take students to a prom.

"I have had quite a few strange vehicles, including a Robin Reliant with yellow flames," he added.

James said he is not deterred by the hearse's creepy past, although he said finding some hymn sheets in the back was a little daunting.
