Girls need your votes to become Teen Queen UK

TWO TEENAGERS from Rugby have been chosen from thousands of hopefuls in a beauty competition.

Thirteen-year-old Leah Jones and Nicola Maynard, aged 14, are now hoping people will get online and cast their votes in the finals of the Teen Queen UK competition.

The girls, who attend Ashlawn School and Harris School respectively, were spotted at Birmingham's Clothes Show at the NEC last year and since then have been photographed at Fairlight Studios in London.

The top two girls from each age category will go through to the finals in August 2010.

Leah's mother, Sue, of Chaucer Road, said: "Leah is in the Teen Princess category of the competition.

"When she found out she'd been selected she was jumping up and down like an idiot!

"It's very exciting and we hope she gets lots of votes."

Nicola's mother, Jane, of Glebe Crescent, New Bilton, said: "When she was photographed at Birmingham she didn't really think any more about it.

"Then she got a call to say she had reached the semi finals and she couldn't believe it. She's really excited.

The competition features other girls from Rugby. Readers can vote until February 14 by visiting www.teenqueenuk.com website.
