Road closure this weekend

MUURAY Road in Rugby will be closed over the weekend.

Warwickshire County Council is advising Rugby road users that the road will have to close from around 6.30pm tonight (Friday 5 March) to carry out emergency cable work.

Central Networks are correcting a high voltage cable fault so will need to close the road to all car users except residents.

Access to the railway station from Murray Road will not be available although drivers can still reach the station via Railway Terrace.

The road is expected to be closed over the weekend, with county council highways staff looking at early Monday for re-opening the road.

Keith Davenport of Warwickshire County Council said: "We have worked with Central Networks to ensure that this essential work is carried out at a time that will cause commuters minimum disruption. We will be re-opening it at the earliest possible opportunity."
