Sly Old Dogs to entertain crowds at country pub

A POPULAR five-piece folk band are presenting a free evening of lively songs and tunes at the pub in Newton, near Rugby.

The Sly Old Dogs will be playing at the Stag and Pheasant in Newton, near Clifton.

Singer and guitarist Pete Willow said: "We're never quite sure what will happen when we turn to play.

"Occasionally we find ourselves accompanied by banjo-players, additional fiddlers and even cello players.

"We put our repertoire together on the night, taking turns on who will lead the next song or tune set.

"It always ends up as a relaxing and fun night out for the musicians and audience - and that's why we do it!"

Admission is free for the Saturday gig, and musicians are welcome to come along and join the band for the evening.
