A POLICE and fire investigation has been launched following a fire at a primary school in Rugby.
Fire crews from Rugby and Southam were called to St Marie’s Catholic Primary School in Dunchurch Road at 5.30pm on Saturday.
A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews used four breathing apparatus, thermal image camera and a hose reel supplied by a hydrant to extinguish the fire. It is believed that the fire is of doubtful origin and a Fire Investigation Officer is currently carrying out an investigation in conjunction with the Police.”
Nobody was at the school at the time of the fire.
It is believed that one classroom has been badly damaged, while others are smoke damaged.
