Fire breaks out at Cemex Rugby

Crews were called to a blaze at a coal mill at Cemex this morning (Monday).

Two engines from Rugby attended at around 5.40am.

The fire was confirmed in a filter box within the coal mill at the cement works in Lawford Road, New Bilton, Rugby.

At 9.16am a message was received that due to unknown fire spread within the sandwich panels used in construction they required a further two pumping engines to assist with the investigation and extinguishing of the fire.

Further crews attended from Atherstone, Southam and Nuneaton.
