WHAT IS IT? Seth Lakeman, an established folk singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

WHERE AND WHEN IS IT?

The Assembly in Leamington Spa on Saturday March 24.

WHAT DO THEY SAY ABOUT IT?

Seth will be playing tracks from his previous studio albums plus some brand new songs from his album Tales From The Barrel House with his superbly talented band.

The multi instrumentalist, considered a virtuoso on the fiddle, could not have dug deeper into his Devon roots for the new album. He even descended into a disused West Country copper mine to record one track.

AND WHAT DO THE CRITICS SAY?

On his latest tour, Dave Simpson of the Guardian said: “With Lakeman’s fiddle as hypnotic as the pied piper’s, and the man playing with such gusto, it’s undeniably compelling.

“Kitty Jay, delivered with just fiddle and stomping foot, is a thrilling justification of his 2005 Mercury nomination.”

Adding: “it takes a special performer to have an audience chanting “Ooh ooh” at a folk gig, which may be a good thing.”
