Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, is launching in Rugby today (Monday, March 27).
The popular service says it will create work opportunities for more than 50 riders in the town over the course of the first year.
More than 15 restaurants have signed up to the service so far, including Papillon Cafe, Prezzo, Delish Kitchen and Ed’s Easy Diner.
Papillon manager Aman Virk said: “We’re very excited to be working with Deliveroo.
“The difference they can make to our sales and reach is phenomenal.
“Partnering with Deliveroo has given us support in marketing and knowledge that will make a real difference to our business.”
It was announced Deliveroo would be coming to Rugby on March 15, to much fanfare and excitement.
Deliveroo aims to deliver food, which will be cooked, fresh to order and delivered from the restaurant kitchen to the customers’ door within 30 minutes.
Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between 12 noon and 11pm.
Deliveroo general manager Caroline Hazlehurst said: “We’re extremely excited to be launching in Rugby and we’re looking forward to bringing some of the town’s delicious dishes straight from the hands of local chefs to customers’ doors.
“Our new riders in Rugby are now kitted out in their new hyper-reflective kit and locals can order from the fantastic variety of restaurants in Rugby, whatever they want, whenever they want, all from the comfort of their own home, office desk or wherever else hunger strikes.
“We already have a number of great partners across the town and we are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers in Rugby over the course of the next year.”
