A former Warwickshire police officer has been sentenced to a three year community supervision order.

Robert William Tedds, 58, of Grange Road, Leamington Spa, has been sentenced to a three year community supervision order for three counts of making indecent images of a child and five counts of outraging public decency after appearing at Worcester Crown Court today (Friday).

He has also been ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years and to pay £425 costs.

Tedds had pleaded guilty to the charges on July 2 at Redditch Magistrates Court where he also requested a further ten counts of outraging public decency be taken into consideration.

T/Detective Inspector John Cashion said: “This was a thorough and independent police investigation into serious offences.

“Tedds previously held a position of trust in the community and we hope this case sends a clear message that no-one is above the law.”

Tedds was previously a member of staff at Warwickshire Police but no longer works for the force.
