Fourth man released on police bail following incident in Rugby town centre

A fourth man arrested by police in connection with an incident in Rugby on Saturday morning has been released on bail.

The 24-year-old man was arrested in Coventry on Sunday night following a serious incident at the taxi rank in Rugby town centre on Saturday morning.

The incident happened at about 4.30am near to the Clock Tower where there was an altercation between two groups of men and subsequently a collision involving a 33 year old man and a black Range Rover.

The Range Rover left the scene following the collision.

The injured man was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with serious leg injuries.

Three men, two aged 24 and one aged 22, were also arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police investigating Saturday’s incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or who has any information about the circumstances leading up to it.
