Dog can be microchipped for free later this month when the council’s pet roadshow rolls into Rugby.

The roadshow visits a number of locations across the borough in August, with staff from the RSPCA on hand to give advice and information about pet care, and veterinary nurses offering free health checks.

They take place from noon to 3pm: Monday, August 17 Featherbed Lane Recreation Ground, Hillmorton; Tuesday, August 18 Round Avenue/Boyce Way, Long Lawford; Hollowell Way/Grizedale, Brownsover - Wednesday, August 19; Thursday, August 20 Buchanan Road, Overslade; Friday August 21 Yates Avenue, Newbold.

Dogs must be chipped by law by April 6 next year.
