Shoppers can park for free in the town centre during the run-up to Christmas and into the New Year.
Rugby Borough Council has announced the free parking offer to deliver a seasonal boost to town centre businesses.
From Sunday November 8, shoppers can park for free at the council’s ten town centre car parks from 12 noon onwards - with 1,285 spaces available.
The free parking offer runs until Sunday January 3 at the John Barford, North Street, Little Church Street, Newbold Road, Railway Terrace, Evreux Way, Old Market Square, Gas Street, Chestnut Fields and Westway car parks.
Announcing the free parking offer, Cllr Michael Stokes, leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “A thriving town centre has a major role to play in Rugby’s growing economy and I want to support businesses to make the town centre a better place to live, work and visit.
“We have welcomed thousands of visitors during the Rugby World Cup and the celebrations have had a real positive impact on the town centre and its businesses.
“I want to build on this momentum and although Rugby already has some of the lowest car park charges in the county, I believe free parking in the council’s town centre car parks can encourage residents to shop local this Christmas and deliver a seasonal boost to our town centre businesses.”
