A VILLAGE school now has an orchard full of fruit trees after a day of digging.
Gareth Davies from South Warwickshire Local Food spent the day at the Revel Primary School in Monks Kirby on Tuesday planting 16 fruit trees with the help of children from the gardening and eco schools clubs, along with parents and grandparents.
Fruit harvested from the trees will eventually be used in school cooking classes and the project, organised by the school’s extended services team, aims to help keep the Revel sustainable.
School bursar Joanne Godding said: “They all had a fabulous time, they really enjoyed it. The sun shone all day.”
