A RUGBY charity celebrated 60 years of supporting people with learning disabilities and the launch of its new sensory garden.

New Directions hosted an open day at its Bilton Road base to celebrate the milestone and guests included charity supporters, service users and members of the public. The event was a chance to raise funds as well as showcasing its new sensory garden, paid for by Big Lottery fund. A gardening group have planted flowers, herbs and vegetables.

Chief executive officer Doreen Woodward said: “We are very lucky.”
