GEMMA HAYTER MURDER TRIAL BREAKING NEWS: Jury retire to consider verdict

FOLLOWING the judge’s summing-up of the case the jury in the Gemma Hayter murder trial have retired today (Tuesday).

Lady Justice Anne Rafferty DBE finished summing up the case after seven weeks of hearings at the Warwickshire Justice Centre in Leamington.

Just before lunchtime today the jury retired to begin considering its verdicts on the five defendants.

Chantelle Booth, Daniel Newstead, Duncan Edwards, Joe Boyer and Jessica Lynas are all charged with the murder of Gemma whose body was found beaten and stripped naked on a railway line in Hillmorton Road in August last year.

All five also face an assault charge relating to Gemma. They all deny the charges.

The jury is expected to deliver a verdict in the next few days.
