KIND-HEARTED staff at a Rugby funeral home will be out in force with their buckets and sponges on Saturday for a charity car wash.
The event has been organised by colleagues at Co-operative Funeral Services in Rugby and follows on from the success of a similar event last year.
All the money raised from the car wash will be donated to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance appeal.
Peter Pickering, funeral service manager, said: “Due to the nature of our business we work very closely with the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. It is a fantastic cause as it covers accidents and emergencies across an area of 2,000 sq miles but is entirely funded through donations, sponsorship and fundraising activities so relies heavily on events such as this to keep the ambulance up in the air.
“Last year’s event was a great success – we raised well over £100 for Myton Hospice and a number of motorists came to us a couple of times with more than one car. We’re hoping for great weather on the day as hopefully that will help top up the funds even more.”
The charity car wash will take place at Co-operative Funeral Services, 38 Bilton Road, Rugby, CV22 7AL, on Saturday (August 20) from 10am to 2pm.
