FINE & Country estate agents will be scouring the nation in search of the finest gardens.
They will be assisted by guest judge Martyn Cox, who is a gardening columnist with the Mail on Sunday.
Green-fingered vendors will have the chance to win hospitality tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show by entering their shapely landscapes, colourful plants, spectacular water features and follies. Entrants and winners will also have the opportunity of free additional media exposure as part of a national campaign to highlight the importance of garden presentation when selling your home.
The best gardens will be tweeted and displayed on Fine & Country’s Facebook page under five different price categories.
One finalist from each category will be chosen by Facebook users clicking ‘like’ on their favourite garden, as well as being judged by Bill McClintock, keen gardener and head of the Ombudsman Scheme of Estate Agents. The overall winner will then be chosen by gardening guru, Martyn Cox, who will personally present the winner with their certificate and hospitality tickets to attend the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on Thursday, March 24.
Sam Funnell, manager of Fine & Country Rugby, said: “Receiving the accolade of the best garden for sale in the UK will raise the credibility of your home to potential buyers. The judging will consider gardens of all varieties so don’t be put off from entering if your garden is for example small and urban. Even the tiniest of gardens can be carefully constructed, beautifully presented and unique. We even want to know a little bit about yourself and the stories behind the creation of your gardens.”
The finest gardens have the opportunity to gain press coverage in a national newspaper and the overall winning garden will feature in the next edition of ‘Finer’ magazine, Fine & Country’s regional publication which is distributed across the UK to households in council tax bands G and H.
