FRESH local produce and a picturesque setting are on offer at Grandborough’s new farmers’ market.
Running on the first Thursday of every month from 10am till 12.30pm, the market will sell a range of food and crafts as well as tea and biscuits against the backdrop of the village’s church - which is helping run it all.
Market manager Peter Johnson, who is also a church warden at St Peter’s, believes it will help bring the village together.
He said: “Grandborough is a sleepy little village and this is the first time we’ve tried to put something like this together. It’ll be a steep learning curve but I think it will benefit the village all round.”
Stall holders will be asked to make a donation to the church, which will be put towards repairs. Woodworm has been discovered in the floorboards and some stonework needs attention.
Anyone interested in having a stall at the market should call Mr Johnson on (01788) 814994. Satnav users should enter the postcode CV23 8DH.
