Amy Hudson celebrated her 100th birthday with her friends and family at Cherry Trees care home in Rugby.

Mrs Hudson was born on July 31 1913 in Addison Road and lived there until it was knocked down to widen the corner into Lawford Road.

Mrs Hudson, who was a pupil at St Marie’s, met her husband Ted at a dance and they lived together in Addison Road.

The couple enjoyed gardening, camping, and cycling on their tandem bicycle. They went to Switzerland and Germany for holidays.

Mr Hudson died when his wife was 55 and she has lived alone since then.

Mrs Hudson was very dedicated to her church, St Marie’s, and worked her whole working life at the BTH factory in Mill Road where she was a secretary to the board of directors.

She now lives at Cherry Tress in Dunchurch Road.
