Poor children around the world will have smiles on their faces this Christmas, thanks to the generosity of students at Harris School.

They have been filling dozens of shoeboxes with gifts for Operation Christmas Child, a charity that distributes presents to youngsters who may otherwise receive nothing.

Teacher Anneka Hurst said: “They have worked tirelessly to raise money to fill the boxes with gifts for children all over the world living in poverty. We are very proud of the charity work that our students at Harris have done.”

More than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have received presents through the annual appeal, run by the Samaritan’s Purse charity, since 1990. Pictured are Harris students Morgan Taggart, Jerry Wagstaffe, Leila Hassall and Joshua Smith.
