Rugby’s first ‘free school’ has appointed its new headteacher.
Susan Milewski will take her post at Rugby Free Primary School after Easter next year.
The school does not have a confirmed site yet but plans to open in September with two reception classes.
Lead proposer Tom Legge said: “We are delighted that we have appointed an exceptional headteacher designate who has the experience, track record and energy to develop our vision for Rugby Free Primary School and ensure that every pupil is given the best possible start.”
Susan Milewski is currently deputy headteacher at an ‘outstanding’ primary school in Coventry.
She said: “At Rugby Free Primary School, every child will be treated as a unique individual where we nurture each child’s academic, social, spiritual and moral education.
“We will ensure that every child receives an education suited to their future needs, which prepares them for the ever increasing demands of today’s society. We will develop a harmonious, respectful environment at our school within which children can learn and flourish.”
She added: “I look forward to working with the local community to create a first-class school and meeting prospective parents at our January open event.”
