A CANCER survivor is preparing to run the London Marathon this year to raise £2,000 for charity.

Kerry Burton, of Moat Farm Drive, Hillmorton, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.

Kerry underwent a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction followed by six months of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiotherapy.

She is now two years into a five year remission period and is feeling better than ever.

So much so that she is now in training for the London Marathon in April and all the sponsorship money she raises will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Kerry said: “The work this charity does is immense and I know that I almost certainly owe my life to this research and development.”

Passion 4 Homes in Rugby, which is selling Kerry’s house on her behalf, has sponsored her £250.

Kerry thanked the estate agent and asked if anyone else wants to sponsor her to visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/kerryburton.
