Children and staff from schools in Hillmorton battled through an early start and wet weather to make an impressive coin mosaic for Children in Need on Friday.

Paddox Primary School, Hillmorton Primary School, English Martyrs Primary School, Eastlands Primary School and Squirrels nursery took part, with work starting at 7am at Paddox.

They had to finish at 2.30pm as they ran out of coins, but had enough time to create a design in the shape of the head of Pudsey, the charity’s bear mascot.

The amount raised has not yet been confirmed but is expected to top £1,000.
