SUPERMARKET shoppers in Rugby have helped raise £200 for Myton Hospice.

As part of a new initiative launched at the end of last year by Asda in Chapel Street, Rugby Myton Hospice was chosen to receive a charitable donation.

Each month Asda picks three local charities and when customers pay at the checkout they are given a token. They then have to pick their favourite charity and put their token in the relevant pot. The charity with the most tokens at the end of the month receives a cheque from Asda.

Nigel Adams, community fundraiser for Myton, said: “We would like to thank them for their donation. We appreciate the support. We need to raise £500,000 for Rugby this year.”
