RUGBY’S homeless will benefit from the generosity of townsfolk - and one group of young people in particular.

Rugby Rotaract is a branch of the Rotary Club for those aged 18 to 30.

And through a range of fundraising events, including a stall at the Spring Fare and a sponsored football tournament, they have raised £700 for homeless charity Hope4.

Rugby Rotaract president Alex Bradburn said: “We’ve not come from brilliant backgrounds ourselves, and we all felt we should give something to people who have less than us.”

Rugby Rotaract has about 25 members, many of whom had been in youth clubs that have closed. The group was formed two years ago.

Hope4 provides shelter and help for people in Rugby who are homeless or living in poor conditions. Call (01788) 572456 for more information.
